Overview:
The College of Business at Stony Brook University invites applications for an Adjunct Lecturer in Property and Casualty Insurance. We are seeking a knowledgeable expert in Risk Management and Insurance. A suitable candidate will have expertise in this area. Additionally, there may be potential opportunities to teach courses in real estate, risk management and insurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Insurance (current needs lie in the area of property and casualty insurance).
  • Develop course content and materials in accordance with college and area guidelines
  • Provide academic support and guidance to students
  • Participate in departmental meetings and activities as required

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of a master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Finance, Insurance, Risk Management or a related field. Prior experience or demonstrated ability to teach in an educational institution or corporate/executive setting.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Risk Management and Insurance, Business Administration, Finance. Significant industry experience in Property and Casualty Insurance, with a strong understanding of underwriting, claims, risk assessment, and regulatory issues. Professional certifications in any of the following: Chartered property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) Designation, Associate in General Insurance (AINS).
