Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a Project Health & Safety Coordinator for our growing Transportation group in Ontario. This group is involved in the planning, design, and contract administration of large transportation infrastructure projects across Ontario.
Your Key Responsibilities
The Project Health & Safety Coordinator will work with the Regional Business Leader (RBL) and Business Center (BC) Leaders to implement the Stantec Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Program within the Ontario Transportation group. More specifically, the day-to-day activities will include the following tasks:
Coordinating day-to-day safety activities with Project Managers
Developing project specific health and safety plans, including identifying job hazards and specific controls
Planning and tracking project field work activities, including review of field level risk assessments.
Reviewing project field work activities by completing planned job observations
Completing project file safety reviews
Reviewing near miss/incident evaluations, developing HSSE improvement opportunities, and Lessons Learned
Tracking of mandatory health and safety training within the Business Centers
Reviewing and tracking subcontractor submittals as they relate to HSSE
HSSE reporting to the Regional leadership team.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and industry safety standards
Passionate about health and safety and the well-being of our project teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Well-organized with the able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Willing to travel occasionally within Ontario
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Education and Experience
Post-secondary education (degree or diploma) in health and safety.
Working towards CRSP Certification
