Responsibilities
Under general supervision and medical direction, performs waived and moderately complex laboratory tests as defined by State and Federal Regulations. Performs clinical laboratory test procedures in a manner that provides accurate, timely, and meaningful results.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Must have one of the following:
AA degree or an equivalent or higher degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, including a minimum of 36 semester units of physical or biological science from an accredited college or university.
Completion of 60 semester (90 quarter) units from an accredited college or university with 36 semester units in physical or biological science.
Graduation from a medical laboratory technician training program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science or other recognized accrediting program approved by the department.
Continuing education requirements must be maintained
One year of experience as a Lab Assistant or Technician in a clinical laboratory is preferred
License and Certs:
- Current CA license as a Medical Laboratory Technician
Pay Range
$47.19 - $54.70 /hour
