About the team and this role

BlackRock’s Nordic Marketing and Corporate Communications function is responsible for developing and delivering the firm’s marketing and corporate communications strategy across the Nordic region. The team works in close partnership with local country management, the local sales teams, the European country marketing teams, central EMEA marketing and shared marketing communication functions (advertising, digital, creative services, events and literature management) and the Corporate Communications team.

Job purpose/background

The Nordic Country Marketing Manager will be responsible for implementing the marketing plan for BlackRock and iShares in the Nordics working in close collaboration with the Head of Nordic Marketing and Corporate Communications, the Nordic PR/Communications manager, and the Nordic channel manager. The successful candidate will develop strong relationships with Nordic country management, the sales teams in Stockholm, Copenhagen and Helsinki and the European Marketing team to deliver campaigns and events to a diverse client base. The individual will be responsible for planning and coordinating activities across the full range of marketing disciplines, including digital, media, direct marketing, events and client partnerships.

Stakeholder management is a key part of this role as well as ensuring that best in class marketing campaigns developed across BlackRock globally are being leveraged and implemented timely and effectively in the local market. The position will report to BlackRock’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications for the Nordics.

Key responsibilities

  • Help implement the local marketing plan to effectively target key client segments, including the development and execution of activities across the full range of marketing disciplines (web, content, advertising, direct marketing, events and sponsorships). Coordinate these with the Nordic PR manager and social channel manager as appropriate

  • Manage local client events from start to finish in line with the firm’s guidelines and processes

  • Develop co-marketing programmes with key clients, including online campaigns, content, events, training, etc

  • Manage the Nordic websites (in English)

  • Work closely and effectively with the European country marketing and central marketing teams, and liaise with key stakeholders within the local sales teams to manage projects from beginning to end

  • Implement centrally developed marketing campaigns and adapt for the local market (including managing digital campaigns, content and sometimes translations)

  • Report on the effectiveness of marketing programmes and use these insights to adapt as appropriate

  • Coordinate activities and ideas with the wider marketing team & potentially take on regional responsibilities

  • Engage with competitor and client marketing teams to stay up to date and report back to the business

  • Work closely with Legal and Compliance to ensure all local activities are compliant

Experience/qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, Business Studies or Economics or a similar professional qualification

  • 5+ years’ marketing experience, preferably in the financial services industry (asset management, banking or consultancy)

  • Native speaker of a Nordic language, excellent level of spoken and written English

  • Experience in developing and implementing fully integrated marketing campaigns, including events

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and excellent attention to detail

  • Good product and investment knowledge and keen interest in the investment landscape

  • Understanding of wealth and institutional client segments

  • Good understanding of local financial media landscape

  • Experience in various channels of the marketing and communication field with focus on digital

  • Experience in an international environment or a period spent working overseas would be a plus
