Instruct and assist year-four professional veterinary students. Maintain equipment and supplies inventory in clinical areas. Provide high quality veterinary technical assistance in several clinics/departments of the VTH including small animal medicine and surgery, small animal ICU, equine medicine and surgery, food animal medicine and surgery etc.

This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally. Physically capable of lifting large animals onto exam tables and into elevated cages.

Exposure to animal diseases that may be transmitted to humans. Subject to animal scratches or bites. Exposure to chemicals and pharmaceuticals used in treatment of animals, medical waste, animal feces, urine, blood, and vomitus. Exposure to hazardous materials such as chemotherapeutic drugs. Loud noises related to small and large animals are routine. Must comply with mandatory rabies pre-exposure vaccine program.
