The Oklahoma State University, College of Veterinary Medicine is offering a rotating internship positionin Equine Medicine and SurgerybeginningJune 17, 2024 through June 30, 2025. The internship is designed to provide a broadly based clinical experience that will prepare the intern for equine practice, residency in an equine clinical program, or further graduate studies.\ \ SALARY:\$30,000/annually\ \ The intern will work closely with faculty clinicians that will provide direct supervision, training, and mentoring. Increasing responsibility and independence is allowed as proficiency in clinical skills and judgment is demonstrated. The intern will assist in the instruction and supervision of veterinary students in clinical rotations and laboratories. Clinical duties will include night and weekend emergency duty and inpatient critical care for equine cases and is shared with up to 4 other house officers.\ \

The intern will provide primary emergency service after hours, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis with up to four other house officers. A senior clinician will always be available either on-site or as backup.\ \

Benefits include annual leave, sick leave, and medical insurance. Annual leave consists of two weeks (10 weekdays) and one week during the Christmas/New Year holidays. -Medical insurance begins the first day of the month following your employment date. Depending on the coverage you select, you may be charged a monthly fee for your medical insurance. Professional liability is covered by the Tort Claims Act.\ \

You will be required to pay for a faculty license (\$125) through the state of Oklahoma and must have passed the NAVLE exampriorto beginning the internship. Parking permits are required to park near the teaching hospital. The approximate cost of the parking permit is \$165.00 per academic year.\ \
