Stephens Chair in Wildlife and Director of the Wisconsin Center for Wildlife is a full-time (12-month), tenure track, Extension Specialist position that includes 75% Director responsibilities (grant writing, research, Extension programming, and administration) and 25% undergraduate teaching (approximately 3 credit hours/semester). This position is expected to develop and maintain an impactful Extension wildlife research and outreach program that addresses issues of importance to Wisconsin\'s citizens and communities. The research, outreach, and Extension work is supported by a \$2 million dollar endowment establishing the Douglas R. Stephens Endowed Chair in Wildlife. The Chair/Director will be expected to connect the resources of the Wisconsin Center for Wildlife to other Extension researchers and outreach programs and to take a leadership and collaborative role in existing and emerging wildlife initiatives, teams, and opportunities. We are especially interested in candidates that have the ability to foster effective, collegial, cooperative and productive relationships with students to advance outreach and extension programming. The successful candidate will be poised to be a key contributor to advancing the field of applied wildlife research and delivering innovative outreach. Other expectations include undergraduate and graduate student advising, and contribution to college and university governance. Varied hours will be required. Demonstrated record of scholarship and publication history. Success in securing extramural support of applied wildlife research. Commitment and ability to be an excellent undergraduate educator and mentor. Preferred Qualifications Research and teaching experience in one or more of the following: wildlife habitat management, human-wildlife conflicts, ungulate ecology, or spatial analysis of wildlife populations. Experience in working with diverse populations of learners and stakeholders.
