My client is a large, national healthcare company that is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax filings, cash management, and a solid understanding of various tax types, including excise tax, gross receipts tax, and franchise tax. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial records, managing cash transactions, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Filings and Compliance:

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, including but not limited to excise tax, gross receipts tax, and franchise tax.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, staying current on any changes.

• Assist in preparing documentation and reports for tax audits and coordinate with tax authorities as needed.

• Maintain accurate and organized tax records for all filings and payments.

Cash Management:

• Manage daily cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.

• Reconcile cash accounts regularly and identify discrepancies or issues promptly.

• Monitor bank transactions and prepare daily cash reports for management review.

• Assist in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and budgeting processes.

General Accounting Duties:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.

• Assist with financial statement preparation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Support the Accounting Manager in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Participate in internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

• Implement best practices in tax filing, cash management, and general accounting procedures.

  Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Corporate Taxation.

• Skilled in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Experience in preparing and filing Annual Tax returns

• Familiarity with Corporate Income Tax requirements and procedures

• Knowledge of Excise Tax laws and regulations

• Experience in handling Tax - Corporate and Tax - Franchise issues

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
