The Opportunity:

CACI has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer, with a Top Secret Clearance (TS/SCI) with a Poly to develop, test and field our operational systems. CACI is seeking an enthusiastic Systems Engineer with Linux experience for our Sterling, VA location. In this position, the individual will work with emerging technologies in the space domain sector. This sector is focused on ground- and space-based systems that detect, characterize, and predict threats to national and allied space systems. You will work with a technically diverse integrated product team that develops software-based signals processing applications and systems. You will provide systems engineering expertise as a member of the team to design, develop, document, manufacture, analyze, test, and deliver enterprise level systems for various projects and missions. You will have opportunities to the be the lead on many projects.

Continental US and international travel may be required up to 30% as well as periodic surge support.

Responsibilities:

Provide systems engineering knowledge across multiple phases of the project lifecycle to include system planning design, site surveys, PDR, CDR, build, development, test, verification, installation, implementation, and operations and maintenance of hardware and software systems. Candidate will design systems based on project requirements that may need to be tuned per latest Customer requirements. Engineer will work with the agile team throughout all phases of the project to create, assist with and/or refine the following:

  • Project plan and schedule

  • System requirements and specifications

  • System electrical wiring diagrams

  • Power, space, and cooling specifications/requirements

  • Networking interfaces and specifications

  • Maintenance requirements

  • Bill of materials

  • System costs

  • Manufacturing of the system

  • Security policies

  • Create presentations and other documentation

  • Execute system verification and validation testing

  • System training

  • Determine risks

  • Customer organization guidelines, policies, and procedures

  • Provide end-to-end systems engineering in support of critical enterprise mission systems

  • Investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical team members

  • Provide feedback to developers to assess and improve operational functionality

  • Effectively communicate and work collaboratively with multiple teams (Software/DSP/System Admins/Systems/RF Engineers/Security) in a fast-paced environment

  • Lead project teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and provide O&M for mission systems

  • Travel to unique and exciting locations

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent and related experience in systems engineering

  • Must have a current TS/SCI and the ability to obtain and maintain a CI poly.

  • Intermediate to advanced-level knowledge of industry systems engineering and test operating concepts, best practices, and standard procedures

  • Strong communication skills, analytical/problem solving ability, time management and organizational skills

  • Experience with Red Hat Linux Enterprise or equivalent system-based architecture

  • Competence in MS Office suite including Visio, Power Point, Word, Excel and Project

  • CompTia Security+ certification

Desired:

  • Knowledge of the latest generation enterprise hardware to include latest generations of servers, storage systems, and networking devices

  • Knowledge of tools and resources needed in order to build and implement enterprise level Intelligence Community (IC) systems

  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) requirements, processes, policies and guidance

  • Troubleshooting hardware and software in Linux/UNIX OS environment

  • Experience using system build automation tools: Satellite, Ansible, and Puppet

  • Experience working in a GitOps environment

  • Experience with Atlassian tools: Jira and Confluence

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$102,900 - $216,200
