Insight Global Vehicle Electronics Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Vetronics Engineer to join one of clients within the Defense Industry. The engineer in this position would be responsible for:

- Developing vehicle electrical architecture

- Requirement analysis and decomposition

- Researching and analyzing solutions to meet customer requirements

- Perform trade studies to compare alternative approaches

- Support the integration of military lethality, survivability, and C4ISR systems

- Developing requirement specs, drawings, schematics, and ICD's

- Supporting prototype development and testing

- Supporting system integration lab development

- Create and maintain electrical power budgets and allocations

- Perform analytical analysis and simulations to evaluate system performance

- Support component and vehicle testing

o Understand and create test requirements

o Create and review test plans

o Monitor/Analyze test results

o Troubleshoot issues and perform corrective action

- Project Management

o Understand and create project schedules

o Maintain project open issues lists

o Prepare and present project status

Skills and Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering

- 8 to 10+ years of experience in Vetronics (Vehicle Electronics)

- Experience with bus protocols

o CANBus, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553

- Strong defense background

o Delivering on large US Defense programs

o Experience with military command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems

- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering design and system integration

- Working knowledge of digital, analog, power and RF electronics

- Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers, function generators, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers

- Must currently hold or have the ability to obtain SECRET US Defense Clearance null
