United States Fleet Forces Command TECHNICAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST (ELECTRONIC RESOURCES MANAGEMENT) in Stennis Space Center, Mississippi

Summary You will serve as a TECHNICAL INFORMATION SPECIALIST (ELECTRONIC RESOURCES MANAGEMENT) in the COMMAND SERVICES DEPARTMENT (N1), TECHNICAL LIBRARY DIVISION (N14) of NAVAL OCEANOGRAPHIC OFFICE, STENNIS SPACE CENTER (SSC), MS. Responsibilities You will manage the life cycle of the library's electronic resources. You will maintain SharePoint sites that facilitate communication and knowledge sharing. You will develop and follow policies, procedures and workflows related to the management of digital resources. You will provide assistance and instruction to library patrons and staff, troubleshooting technical problems and generating metrics on web-based electronic resources. You will recommend, help procure, and maintain access to digital resources and tools such as the integrated library system, ejournals, and research databases. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience administering, managing and providing access to electronic resources. Experience using SharePoint administration, database design and integrated library systems. Experience developing and following policies, procedures and workflows related to the management of digital resources. Experience planning, overseeing and participating in digitization projects. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Basic Education Requirements: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study that meets all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in the subject-matter field of the position to be filled. OR Four years of experience that provided knowledge of the basic principles, theories, practices, techniques, and terminology of a discipline or subject-matter field; an understanding of the standard methods, procedures, and techniques of research and analysis in the subject-matter field; and where appropriate, ability to read and comprehend nontechnical material in one or more foreign languages. Such experience must have been equivalent to that which would have been gained through a 4-year college curriculum. OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
