Field Welder

Pay: $17 - $35/hr.

Location: Bellefonte, PA + 1.5 hours away from the shop location.

Job type: Fulltime position, Mon-Fri | 6:30am - 4pm. OT as necessary

Job Description

We are seeking 2 skilled and experienced welders to join our team specializing in metal fabrication and welding services based in Julian, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of experience in welding, focusing on structural steel. This role involves both in-shop fabrication and field welding assignments. The expectation for welders in our shop is that they can be called out into the field to work at any time.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble structural steel components such as handrails, stairs, and other custom metalwork.

• Operate welding equipment to produce high-quality welds.

• Follow blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure precise fabrication and assembly.

• Travel to job sites to perform welding and installation of fabricated steel components, up to an hour away from the shop in Julian, PA.

• Work in various field conditions, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

• Inspect welds for defects and ensure compliance with industry standards.

• Perform routine maintenance and repair of welding equipment.

Essential Skills

• 3-5+ years of welding experience with a mixture of shop and field welding, specializing in structural steel.

• Proficiency in MIG and Stick welding techniques, TIG is a plus.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Certification in welding (e.g., AWS and or D1.1) is a plus, but not necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $35.00/hr.
