DESCRIPTION:

As a Field Safety Engineer at Roy Anderson Corp., reporting to the Safety Director, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Ensures RAC’s safety policies and practices are implemented and practiced on all company project sites

  • Possesses technical knowledge of regulatory standards and best practices, keeps informed on upcoming and changing industry standards regarding safety

  • Performs regular on-site inspections and observations, documents findings, evaluates trends. Provides feedback to project team

  • Follows up on unsafe job site conditions, tracks to correction and documents

  • Thoroughly investigates and documents all incidents and near misses develops corrective action plans

  • Monitors subcontractor compliance project safety rules and verifies their compliance with OSHA regulations and RAC Safety Plan.Works with project teams to correct subcontractor violations

  • Ensures project teams are current with training and certifications

  • Understands protocols for regulatory activities and inspections

  • Understands the required PPE for tasks and enforces use

  • Conducts site specific orientations and Safety Meetings unique to project needs

  • Provides or ensures adequate training for safe work practices

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Five years of construction safety experience or equivalent combination of training and related career experience

  • A degree in Occupational Safety and Health is a plus.

  • Advanced knowledge and ability to enforce all federal, state, local and company safety regulations required

  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures essential

  • Completion of OSHA 500 Trainer Course and the ability to teach additional safety courses is a plus

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills also required

  • Must have valid driver license and be willing to undertake extensive travel to distant project sites
