The Das Lab in the Department of Biochemistry is seeking a Ph.D.-level, Basic Life Science Research Scientist with a passion for science and learning. This position is for a 3 year fixed-term, with a possibility of renewal. We are interested in developing predictive models for RNA folding based on cryo-electron microscopy and emerging deep learning frameworks.

This position offers an opportunity to participate in and lead exciting and fast-paced research. The successful candidate will learn and advance a variety of laboratory methods, including RNA biochemistry, RNA cryo-electron microscopy, and data analysis, as well as computational methods, including training 3D neural networks. Ideal candidates demonstrate deep intellectual curiosity, have strong organizational and communication skills, cherish teamwork, and desire to strive for excellence. Previous experience in molecular biology and structural biology research is required.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the principal investigator, lab members, and collaborators in an interactive, supportive, and inclusive lab environment. You will pioneer and advance biochemical and structural biology through both experimental methods like cryo-electron microscopy and cutting-edge computational methods involving deep learning neural networks. Finally, you will have the opportunity to develop scientific communication skills and to write rigorous and foundational publications that will demonstrate your ability to subsequently lead your own independent research group.

The expected pay range for this position is $74,000 - $90,000 per annum.
