The Wang Lab in the Institute of Immunity, Transplantation, and Infection is seeking a Ph.D.-level, Basic Life Research Scientist (1 Year Fixed Term) with a passion for science and learning. This position is for a 1 year fixed term, with a possibility of renewal.

The Wang Lab uses in vivo and in vitro systems to study how antibodies can modulate viral infections or anti-viral vaccine responses through signaling interactions with Fc gamma receptors (FcγRs). The overarching goal of projects in the Wang lab is to elucidate FcγR pathways that can be harnessed towards the development of enhanced vaccines and therapeutics.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the principal investigator, lab members, and collaborators in an interactive, supportive, and inclusive lab environment.

The BLRS will participate in and lead exciting and fast-paced research in the fields of molecular biology and immunology. We are searching for someone with deep intellectual curiosity, strong organizational and communication skills, and a passion to advance the lab’s projects as a team.

The candidate will lead projects, using both in vitro and in vivo methods, and will oversee our unique and precious mouse colony to support experimental work in the laboratory. The ideal candidate will have experience in various sequencing platforms to help the lab generate and analyze data for numerous projects.

The expected pay range for this position is $$87,000 – $104,000 per annum.

The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years since their applicable education, field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D., and or M.D., in related scientific field.

  • Completed postdoctoral training.

  • Record of collaboration and mentorship during postgraduate research.

  • Lead authorship of peer-reviewed publication(s).

  • Previous experience in molecular biology.

  • Outstanding command of written and verbal English.
