Principal Financial Group Assistant Vice President, Portfolio Administration, Client Service & Marketing - Spectrum Asset Management in Stamford, Connecticut

What You'll Do

We’re looking for an AVP – Portfolio Administration, Client Service & Marketing to join our Spectrum Asset Management team. In this role, focus on portfolio administration, client service, performance reporting, marketing, and compliance monitoring! You will lead a small team to support clients by providing performance data, maintaining analytic systems, preparing client review materials, and ensuring compliance across the firm. Additionally, you'll support senior management and sales teams with market and portfolio data, analytical materials, and due diligence requests.

  • Client Reporting & Coordination: manage and facilitate client reporting process flow on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc basis

  • Analytical Support: monitor and maintain client account performance and attribution reporting, internal composites, benchmarks and indices

  • Liaison and Communication: Act as a strategic liaison between partners, clients and the portfolio, credit, and sales teams

  • Team Leadership: Engage in all facets of portfolio administration and client service as a player-coach overseeing and guiding a small team

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business (or equivalent experience)

  • 7+ years in investment/mutual fund operations or a related field, with deep knowledge of fixed income products and services

  • In-depth understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, investment products, security types, risk statistics, investment performance, characteristics/analytics, and attribution methodologies

  • Proven skills in problem-solving, planning, time management, decision making, consulting, negotiation, and project management

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • CFA

  • Direct experience with and knowledge of portfolio guideline monitoring systems, Bloomberg CMGR in particular

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities, with attention to detail

  • Must have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, exercise flexibility when dealing with people and effectively communicate with internal and external contacts at all levels

  • Requires ability to understand and use technology in delivery of services

  • FINRA SIE, Series 7 and Series 63 preferred or ability to obtain within 180 days

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$134000 - $182000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Location

Stamford, CT. Spectrum’s Stamford office is located 15 minutes from the Metro-North Railroad (New Haven Line) and there is a free shuttle bus that runs daily between the Stamford Metro-North Station and the office park at which Spectrum is located. As a result, a reverse commute from New York City to Spectrum is very practical.

Work Environments

This role offers the ability for 3-4 days in the office and 1-2 days remote or full time in the office. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors
