United Rentals Advanced Solutions Manager in Stamford, Connecticut

As an Advanced Solutions Manager, you will assist in developing and implementing advanced strategies and practices to drive substantial improvements in productivity, forecasting, Fleet adjustments, logistics, and customer service through advanced analytics/process innovation.

What you’ll do:

  • Gains and sustains a competitive advantage for the Company by leading in developing and managing the implementation of a new operating model for the Metro and District being piloted in Front-Range district in close cooperation with the DM and local management team.

  • Revitalizing, defining core fleet offerings, creating and managing a Sales & Operations (S&OP) cadence to manage fleet, and creating tools and processes to pilot new scheduling/capacity planning tools.

  • Together with the DM take a leadership role in implementing process improvements and broad-based implementation of changes in the pilot locations to redefine operational standards:

  • Establish and lead the Sales and Operations (S&OP) cadence for the District.

  • Establish and lead the Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) cadence for the District.

  • Support in design and implementation of new models for proactively moving fleet utilizing advanced analytics and logistics models

  • Support in the design and implementation of new definitions of roles and responsibilities between branches in the Metro including decisions of where to perform certain processes and services

  • Create, pilot, and refine new models for capacity planning and staffing models

  • Support changes and process improvements to the centralized services such as Sales Support teams and Centralized Truck Dispatch.

  • Partner with Ops Excellence on initiatives that support change management and improve employee skills and performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, or industrial engineering, or related discipline required or comparable work experience

  • Project management certification preferred or process improvement experience with operational activities

  • 7-10 years of branch operating experience, including P&L responsibility. Service experience and background is preferred. Experience developing process improvements and lean six sigma.

  • Experience in lean, Process Excellence, Six-Sigma, Quality, 5S, or change management a plus

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to recommend process or structural improvements based on fact patterns and trends.

  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to articulate operational improvement opportunities and strategies in order to produce the compelling presentation materials necessary to obtain buy-in across stakeholders.

  • Excellent ability to influence others as a subject matter expert.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively.
