GE Vernova Project Quality Manager in Stafford, United Kingdom

Job Description Summary

The Project Quality Manager will be accountable for developing and delivering project quality plans and quality deliverables in line with project life cycle phasing.

The position will not have any direct reports but will include need to drive action and influence small teams of people within the project delivery life cycle.

The Quality leader will report directly to the NE region Quality leader but will have strong interface with Client Quality and project management team.

As Quality Leader you will require strong influencing and communication skills to align and enforce the project on GE Vernova ‘ Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost’ priority and encourage the ‘Step up, Step in and Step together’ culture and behaviours for both Safety and Quality.

Some travel to customer site will be required in UK as estimate around 10% to 15%.

Some additional travel by exception may be required outside of UK.

Job Description

 Production in line with Vernova quality management system and client contractual quality requirements, Project quality plans and deliverables.

 Development of transactional process between internal and external clients (Project site, Supply chain, and end client)

 Training and development of Project team on Quality process and tools. E.G non conformance, Customer satisfaction.

 Development and delivery of Project audit plan, both internal audits and client or third party audits.

 Quality reporting, both internally and to the client.

 Non conformance management, inclusive of RCA, CAPA, 8D.

 Customer satisfaction and complaint handling.

 COPQ and CoR reporting and RCA.

 Leadership of small team of quality professionals inclusive of Site quality, ITP, Equipment quality.

 Management of change within the project.

 Developing specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest functional developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.

 Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

 Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. These jobs have significant input into their priorities. Jobs at this level tend to be covered by professional practices and policies but these are shaped by the role. Working within broad guidelines and policies, roles at this level have moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of evaluative judgment.

 Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions

Skills, Experience, Qualifications.

Minimum of 3 years Quality leadership preferably in similar project business.

Strong knowledge and experience of ISO9001:2015 & ISO21500:2012, should be lead auditor for ISO9001:2015.

Would be advantage for experience and or understanding of ISO15288, ISO45001, ISO14001 but not essential.

Would be advantage to have Green belt.

RCA, CAPA, 8D methods

Essential: Strong skills IT tool usage, Microsoft office, document control systems, non-conformance management systems, SAP, BIM, Completion management or similar.

Risk processes (FMEA style methods)

Degree in Engineering discipline or similar for the type of work or experience which equates to a similar level of competence.
