VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional Lease Accounting Manager to join our team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

As Lease Accounting Manager y ou will be accountable for building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to understand, execute and control the application of the lease accounting standard while giving a high level of visibility to accounting, reporting and business-related stakeholders.

You will work with the Sr. Director Accounting, Record to Report Sr Manager, local accounting teams, real estate teams, Management Accounting, and the outsourcing partner to follow up on the standardization and quality of reconciliations by issuing guidelines.

You will control the work performed by the outsourcing partner on Lease Accounting to ensure leases are accounted for in line with the accounting standards, finance and business goals.

How You Will Make a Difference

• Understand the upcoming new or changes to lease events

• Ensure the lease accounting standards are applied;

• Ensure that the internal and external teams have the right information to provide the required financial data and actions

• Ensure the correctness of the operating leases in the AMT system and updates to the FASB module;

• Prepare, follow up and finalize correct and complete monthly closings;

• Ensure reconciliation standards are rolled out and the balance sheet accounts are reconciled and tie to the lease system;

• Perform Balance Sheet and P&L controls, including the review of rent cost and posting of adjustments;

• Coordinate the annual impairment process;

• Prepare the annual USGAAP to statutory rent expense entries;

• Ensure that the documentation exists and ensure process is working as described;

• Ensure the sox controls related to lease accounting standards are performed in a timely and complete manner.

Skills for Success

Your background in an accounting or related Finance discipline gives you a good understanding of accounting principles (statutory and US GAAP) in combination with relevant US Public Company experience and process owner responsibilities for policy and procedures and internal SOX controls over financial reporting in the finance shared services environment.

To be successful, you can display :

• Strong understanding of business processes and practices and the interaction with an accounting shared services framework

• Track record of successful driving execution with a clear customer service orientation

• Ability to gain commitment with your business partners and stakeholders.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills (EN/NL), including the ability to translate technical or financial information to a non-technical audience, will make you a credible partner.

• Ability to think innovatively, adapt yourself, and the team, to changes.
