Must have the following in order to apply:

  • Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Emergency Oxygen
  • Maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness
  • Demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance withstandards

Required Screening:

Pre-employment drug screen and clear background check required.; Drug-Free Workplace

Preferred Education:

  • Current Lifeguard or equivalent

**Job Description:

The Speer outdoor Aquatics Center is composed of an 8 lane 25yard lap pool, a smaller warm water teaching pool, and a splash pad. The Center will not only serve members, but middle school students.The Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Creates an atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities: **

  • Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the pool area; acts immediately and appropriately to securepatrons in the event of emergency.
  • Customer service skills
  • Responds to challenges with possible solutions
  • Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintains relationships with the members, participants and otherstaff.
  • Knows and applies rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area.
  • Maintains records as required by the employer and/or the state Health Department code.
  • Remains under pressure or when challenged by others.
  • Performs equipment checks and ensures equipment is available as needed.
  • Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving.
  • Knowledgeable and promote all programs values.

Days and Hours:

25 hours per week and the candidate must be available on weekends.

**Pay:
