City Of St Paul Youth Field/Gym Monitor in St Paul, Minnesota

Saint Paul Municipal Athletics is hiring Youth Field/Gym Monitors at various fields/gyms throughout the City for the youth football, soccer, and basketball seasons. No experience is necessary, and we will provide all training and materials. This may lead to positions in other youth and/or adult sports. Here's what you can expect to do: Maintain control of attendee behavior during the games to ensure safety for all, including spectators, players, and coaches. Keep spectators off the field or gym floors during games, half-time & between games. Assist facility staff in preparing the site, if necessary. Duties would include setting up binders housed at the fields or gymnasiums, which hold the sportsmanship pledge, rules, and game schedule. Help clear field or gymnasium if poor behavior by attendees persist after intervention. Facilitate the reading of the sportsmanship pledge before each game. Serve sportsmanship cards to spectators who are displaying inappropriate behavior. Call police if attendees become out of control or overly hostile towards game participants or each other. Ensure spectators sit in designated seating areas during games. Provide supervision to the field or gymnasium between games. Help center staff keep facility clean, if necessary. Administer first aid as necessary. Fill out Accident or Incident Reports as needed. Expectations for Youth Field/Gym Monitors: Must be on the field or in the gym always while games are being played. Must be able to effectively communicate and work with others. Must be on-time and maintain a strong sense of crowd control. Wear issued uniform. Potential hires will work between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from August - October for the fall season. The winter season hires will work between 8 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays from November-February. Occasional Sundays will be required from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. during fall and winter End of Season Tournaments.
