This Smart Services Product Manager is the leader for the Mission Critical product offerings across the North America Commercial Smart Services team at Trane. As Product Manager, you are responsible for strategy, cross-functional team leadership, life-cycle management, multigenerational product plans, new product development programs, commercialization, customer research, and go-to-market strategy. Additionally, you will be fully responsible for and accountable for meeting or exceeding Trane’s revenue growth targets, maintaining or growing market share and expanding margin.

Where is the work:

This position has been designated as Remote. We have a preference of the position working out of La Crosse, WI, St. Paul, MN, or Charlotte, NC.

What you will do:

  • This position will lead their respective Service Growth Team (SGT). This is a cross functional team including the Product Manager, Operations Leader, Commercialization Leader, Engineering leader, and other cross functional team leaders focused on driving profitable growth.

  • Lead product offering strategy and long-range plan development, P&L and annual operating plan for the service offering business. Effectively manage tradeoffs between short- and long-term product line performance as measured in revenue, margin, and market share.

  • Actively manage day to day needs of offering, with particular focus on identifying and delivering profitable growth opportunities.

  • Conduct regular industry, market and competitor analyses, including detailed segmentations of end consumers and customers

  • Develop and execute a multigenerational product plan (MGPP) for offerings, ensuring that the positioning, pricing, cost, margins and customer value proposition support the overall building services strategy.

  • Collaborate with other service and equipment product managers to ensure strategy supports broader system initiatives and ensures smooth integration with the overall strategy for Trane.

  • Collaborate with market research team to understand customer needs and define the customer “Critical to Quality” requirements (CTQs) and associated systems to support new service offerings.

  • Initiate and support business cases for NPDs that execute elements of MGPP.

  • Manage annual capital equipment request (CER) for annual investment.

  • Create and execute the marketing and commercialization for new service offerings.

  • Review and approve/reject adjustments to offer structure, pricing, policies or service features to better meet customer needs and expectations, based on regular product/service line reviews.

  • Ensure pricing changes to all existing offerings to cover for inflation, market trends, competitor actions, changes to offer structure or features, and/or lifecycle stages

What you will bring:

  • 7-10 years of product management, strategic marketing, and P&L leadership experience required.

  • Bachelor's degree required. Technical bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Controls or Applied HVAC product knowledge preferred.

  • MBA or Master’s degree with marketing experience preferred.

Compensation:

Annual base compensation: $144,700 – 152,300

Additional Compensation: Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
