M Health Fairview has an immediate opening for a Lead Medical Assistant at the Midway Clinic located in St. Paul, MN. Join M Health Fairview, the largest healthcare system in the state! The M Health Fairview Midway Clinic is a growing and collaborative clinic. Our clinic hours are 7AM to 6PM Monday - Thursday and 7AM - 5PM on Fridays, so no evenings, weekends, or holidays! This provides an excellent work life balance!

This position is eligible for a $4000 Sign On Bonus!

This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period) opening.

Our clinic utilizes a team-based approach to support our Internal Medicine and Family Medicine providers in delivering excellent care to our patients and community. Medical Assistants are a valuable member of our care team and collaborate with providers and support staff in meeting patient care needs during and between appointments in the clinic. Medical Assistants on our team gain experience beyond patient care by working on collaborative projects with other clinics in our service line, leading process improvement initiatives in our clinic, serving as subject matter experts in the clinic, and precepting skills during annual competency review or with new employees. Responsibilities Job Description

The working lead serves as the “go to” person to assist with communication, coordinates and provides training, orientation, and department assimilation. Encourages and motivates team for immediate problem resolution, provides a consistent presence. Anticipates, identifies, and reports departmental areas of concern to clinic supervisor. Champions and promotes a collaborative and conducive team environment. Completes sophisticated and/or high-level project work but is not a substitute for team member thinking and initiative.

Job Expectations:

Lead Medical Assistants will coordinate daily activities of the team to ensure patient needs are met. They are responsible for daily work assignments and makes adjustments to meet department requirements. Lead MAs will assist with arranging immediate coverage for sick calls and assigns breaks. They will provide observations and assists with testing for proficiency regarding performance, conduct and behavior for performance management. The Lead will attends clinic meetings and communicates appropriate information; serving as a clinic representative at peer groups or other meetings as needed. Leads will promote a team environment within the department, other site departments, and other clinics. Coordination of staff orientation and training as well as provide education and orientation to new and existing staff is also an important function of the Lead MA position.

  • Refers standards of practice issues to supervisor for resolution.

  • Responds to and helps resolve operational issues, including provider issues

  • Participates in interview process.

  • Serves as mentor within the dept

  • Ensures safety policies and practice are maintained.

  • Ensures equipment is in working order and quality control logs are completed as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN

  • Basic Life Support Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ambulatory Care Experience

  • AAMA Certification
