This position serves our partners at the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) within the Department of Public Safety (DPS). MNIT BCA provides comprehensive IT operations and support services, custom application development, and dedicated business-specific support functions for investigative and specialized law enforcement services. You will support an agency that partners with law enforcement, public safety, and criminal justice agencies to prevent and solve crimes.

As an IT Advanced Quality Assurance Analyst, you will provide professional knowledge and skills in information systems software automated testing, quality assurance and quality control of application software and systems. You will be performing test automation on systems that support the BCA products. You will also promote appropriate testing methodologies, mentor junior team members, identify and manage defects in the software systems, and create/maintain quality control artifacts.

This position requires an employee to be onsite at the work location 2 days per week.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume.

This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in performing advanced IT quality assurance and automated testing functions.

Experience must include:

  • Quality Assurance Analyst role creating and executing automated test scripts from scratch, execute, and maintain them.

  • Creating quality assurance relevant documentation.

  • Participating in formal review of business/functional requirements and application design.

  • Experience analyzing and reporting overall test status and results.

  • Experience defining regression tests for existing and new systems.

  • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.

  • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

  • A master’s degree in information technology or a related field substitutes for three years of experience, or a related bachelor's degree substitutes for two years, or a related Associate's substitutes for one year.*

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in software Quality Assurance/Quality Control methodologies, process, and technologies with respect to manual, automation, smoke, functional, integration, accessibility, and performance/stress testing areas.

  • Proven ability to collaborate, work effectively as part of a team, and establish and maintain working relationships with all levels of stakeholders, business, and technology staff.

  • Experience in manual and automated testing which includes the ability to identify appropriate tests suitable for automation, creating automated tests from scratch, executing automated tests, identifying and correcting errors in automated tests, and reporting on results using tools such as Jira/Xray.

  • Experience with program languages and software development technologies such as, JAVA, .NET, and SQL.

  • Experience with web services testing with SoapUI using REST and SOAP APIs.

  • Experience testing in an Agile/Scrum and Kanban development environment.

  • Experience working with Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice Systems.
