Job Summary:

  • This role will provide new value to Trane’s large commercial and industrial (C&I) customers through multi-site energy consultations.

  • This role will report to the Energy Engineering Team Leader.

  • This role will work closely with Account Managers, Project Developers, Decarbonization Program Managers, and customers to evaluate building performance using energy, asset, and emissions data, and provide recommendations to the customer to improve performance and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

  • This position will be designated as Virtual – you can be located within any of the Eastern/Western Commercial HVAC Regions, and travel throughout your assigned regions.

Where is the work:

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities:

  • Use data and trends available from utility bills, electricity interval data, and asset lists to evaluate building performance for Trane Energy Services C&I customers. Provide recommendations to the Trane Account Managers and Customers on actions to be taken to improve building performance and meet decarbonization goals.

  • Use supplementary data sets such as eGrid, NREL Cambium, CBECS, and weather files to enhance insights about factors affecting decarbonization trends and impacts across multiple sites.

  • Follow best practices of data collection, management, storage, and analysis, including efficiently manipulating large data sets.

  • Prepare graphical reports to communicate insights, support identification of recommended actions, and demonstrate potential impacts of decarbonization and energy savings projects.

  • Communicate results of analysis and reports to customers and facility engineers on demand.

  • Work with cross functional teams; interfacing with senior level Trane management, equipment & controls, product engineering, account managers, salespeople, and customers.

  • Proficiency in the use of data analysis tools including Tableau and Excel.

  • Actively explore new technologies and generate new ideas for work simplification and process redesign.

  • Serve as a technical resource for the engineering team on complex and advanced engineering projects.

  • Some travel (10% or less) required to Trane sales offices and customer sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering

  • Experience with building energy modeling is beneficial

  • Facility Solutions Background & Perspective is beneficial - HVAC, Lighting, Controls, Envelope, Construction

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Have the capability to discuss both technical concepts around HVACR and controls, as well as understand and converse at the business/strategic level

  • Capability to quickly adapt to new software and web based interfaces.

  • Comfortable engaging at the “C and D Suite” level in customer’s organizations

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and other technical accomplishments are a plus

Total Target Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000
