The purpose of this position is to analyze and approve or disapprove all types of insurance policy form, rule, and rate filings with particular emphasis on life, annuity, and supplemental health coverages. The analyst is expected to cross train in all other lines of coverage as needed.

The incumbent in this position determines whether these filings are in compliance with Minnesota statutes, administrative rules, and case law.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of professional work experience in the insurance industry related to life, annuities, and/or supplemental health insurance.

A Bachelor’s degree is equivalent to one (1) year of experience.

An Advanced degree is equivalent to eighteen (18) months of experience.

Applicants who meet the above experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills sufficient to analyze contract language and apply regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Masters or J.D.)

  • Professional level insurance compliance experience

  • Familiarity with the System for Electronic Rate and Form Filings (SERFF)

Physical Requirements

Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
