Concordia College-St Paul Assistant Director of Residence Life in St. Paul, Minnesota

Position: Assistant Director of Residence Life Location: St. Paul, MN Job Id: 430004 # of Openings: 1 Assistant Director of Residence Life Position Overview: The Assistant Director of Residence Life is a primary administrator, providing leadership and direction, for on-campus housing (approximately 500 - 600 students in traditional-, suite-, and apartment-style housing). The position directly supervises Graduate Assistants (Hall Coordinators), oversees residential curriculum, housing selection and assignments, RA selection and training, and assists with student conduct, Admitted Student Day, Orientation, and more. The Assistant Director will be responsible for department-wide assessment and the operational aspects in Residence Life. The Assistant Director is a live-in (preferred), 12-month position eligible for full benefits and will be a part of the on-call rotation. Residence Life is part of the Student Life team at Concordia University. This position will collaborate with and support many other departments and have the opportunity to serve on University-committees. Essential Duties: Supervision, Hiring, Training Provide mentorship, training, development and supervision within Residence Life to graduate assistants and student staff Develop, facilitate and implement departmental training for student leaders, graduate assistants and professional staff members Assist in the recruitment and selection of Residence Life staff Residential Curriculum Oversee residential programming curriculum Oversee LLCs and programming needs Use Suitable (Comet's Connection) for tracking and assessment Program shopping and budget management Administrative Oversee occupancy and all administrative tasks associated with the effective and efficient operation of residence halls - including housing assignments, housing selections, assignment communications and room switches, condition reports, billing and communicating with essential departments Data entry utilizing Argos and Banner Residence Life assessment initiatives and reports Crisis Response Assist in managing roommate conflicts Assume shared on-call campus duty (includes evenings and weekends) and coordinate emergency response as needed Student Conduct Serve as a Hearing Officer for low-level, residence hall policy violations Utilize Maxient to organize student conduct cases Assist in the development and implementation of Residence Life policies and procedures University Committees/Events Be an active participant of Admitted Student Days, Orientation, Move-In, Graduation and other University events Serve on University committees as needed and assigned Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree: Required Master's Degree: Prefered 2-3 years: Residence Life Experience Experience working in a private, christian university Experience using software (Banner, Argos, Suitable, Maxient) and Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive Customer Service Skills Competencies: Customer Service Skills including verbal and non-verbal communication, writing and presenting Ability to manage multiple tasks, working in a collaborative environment Work with a diverse group of people Supplemental Information: It is the policy of CSP to provide equal opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
