This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul. This position will have the flexibility to telecommute, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to complete a telework agreement. The incumbent may be expected to work in the office on occasion.
This position exists to provide accurate and timely account activities for assigned offices within the Department of Transportation. This position monitors and assists in the management of expenditures for these offices. These activities include entering data into the accounts payable system, ensuring expenditures are following state statues, reconciling accounts, status reporting to management, and performing other assignments on request.
Minimum Qualifications
Math sufficient to compute totals, averages, and percentages of numerical data to check or reconcile financial data.
Data entry sufficient to enter text and numbers into spreadsheets, and computer systems and applications.
Customer service skills and English sufficient to write, read, and speak effectively with vendors, internal customers, co-workers and supervisors.
Spreadsheet experience sufficient to maintain up to date account information.
Accounting and/or budget experience sufficient to reconcile differences between invoice, receipt, and purchase orders as well as estimating needs based on historical data and events affecting accounts.
