Copeland Senior Analyst Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting in St. Louis, Missouri

Based in St. Louis, MO , you will support the finance, accounting, and strategic planning of the business. Primary responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of accounting and financial information and analysis to support quarterly, annual, and long-range planning packages, presentations, and disclosures; reviewing, consolidating, and analyzing monthly world area financial results; and providing financial information and analysis to all levels of management. The Senior Financial Analyst will interact closely with business unit accounting and finance teams as well as cross-functional groups at the corporate level and throughout the business.

AS THE SENIOR ANALYST OF FINANCIAL REPORTING & TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING YOU WILL:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, disclosures, and filings, including the coordination of obtaining of financial data with business units and other corporate departments (accounting, treasury, tax, etc.).

  • Coordinate the process of updating the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, and multiple supporting exhibits that measure various financial ratios and metrics.

  • Support monthly close and consolidation process for select corporate or complex accounting areas, and related internal controls, such as derivatives, debt, share-based compensation, and other topics that arise.

  • Coordinate MD&A bridges and supporting exhibits.

  • Support external auditors related to the financial audit process and provide support for relevant areas.

  • Research and interpret rules and regulations proposed and issued by regulatory bodies to determine their impact on the company.

  • Gather data from the business units to prepare multiple ad-hoc analyses under tight deadlines.

  • Assist Financial Reporting team in special projects, including ongoing improvements and efficiencies to the current reporting process.

  • Deliver insightful financial reporting to our business leaders.

Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option and Core Hours:

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • BS or BA degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Three years of work experience in public accounting (external audit) or financial reporting

  • CPA or CPA in progress

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of linked spreadsheets, data downloads, complex formulas, and pivot tables

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), including advanced functions preferred

  • Must have the ability to meet strict deadlines and balance multiple priorities

  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills

  • Must be able to work productively in a team and independently

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States- Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Four (4) years of work experience in public accounting or financial reporting

  • MBA or Masters in Accounting
