Job Title: Operator Technician
Job Description
This individual will work as part of an autonomous team within a world-class food facility, responsible for day-to-day operational and maintenance activities within a 'First-of-its-Kind' site. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to train and work in all facets of plant operation. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Follow all Plant Policies, Safety Policies, and Procedures (Risk Assessments, Peer on Peer Observations, Lock Out Tag Out, Hot Work Permits, Required PPE, Confined Space Permits)
• Own their process areas and work hands-on to verify safe, sanitary, and efficient operating conditions
• Develop, monitor, and maintain production plans, inventories, and schedules to ensure excellent process performance and product quality
• Operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair computer-controlled manufacturing and packaging equipment
• Lead root cause analysis routines and drive process improvement via other management systems
• Perform quality checks and record them in our automated computer system programs
• Interpret statistical data to make quality and productivity decisions
• Operate forklifts
• Lubricate equipment
• Communicate maintenance and quality activities using computer reporting systems
• Conduct or support Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Electrical system repairs and troubleshooting
• Own their own machines.
Hard Skills
Operation of computer-controlled manufacturing and packaging equipment
Troubleshooting and maintenance of machinery
Conducting root cause analysis
Performing quality checks and interpreting statistical data
Forklift operation
Lubrication of equipment
Technical/computer knowledge
Soft Skills
Willingness to put in the required work and get hands dirty
Ability to work autonomously and make process and procedure decisions
Open to learning and stepping outside of comfort zones
Strong communication skills for reporting maintenance and quality activities
Job Type
This is a permanent position.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in St. Louis, Missouri.
Work Environment
Candidates must be open to the following:
Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
Ability to stand for 12-hour shifts
Ability to walk several miles a day if needed
Candidates must be open to 1st or 3rd shift, rotating twelves (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am, including night shift rotations and weekends)
