A.T. Still University's Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) is seeking non-exempt Clinical Coordinators at the St. Louis Dental Center. The position reports to the Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs and Advanced Dental Education. The Clinical Coordinator will oversee the D3 and D4 students' clinical progress, productivity, utilization of time and coordinate treatment of active patients. Additionally this position will oversee recalls in the CCU and track and manage completion of essential experiences and competencies by each student.

Major Job Duties

  • Management of Patients’ Clinical Care in Comprehensive Care Units

  • Study and manage patient families for D3 and D4 students in the Comprehensive Care Unit (CCU), and ensure regular, ongoing patient visits. Each patient must be seen at least once a month while in active treatment.

  • Ensure each patient is placed on appropriate recall once care is completed, following the St, Louis Dental Center Recall Plan.

  • Monitor students’ clinical productivity, manage open time slots on students’ schedules due to no-shows/cancellations, etc.

  • Analyze the patient family spreadsheet for each student in the CCU on a daily basis and communicate with student doctors and CCU Directors when lapses are noted.Management/Support of Student’s Clinical Progress

  • Manage student attendance and accountability and report to CCU Directors and Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs and Advanced Dental Education

  • Schedule, coordinate and support monthly student progress meetings

  • Analyze the Student Monthly Clinical Progress report for each student, highlight areas of concern and develop list of potential solutions or corrective actions before each meeting

  • Study the completion of Essential Experiences for each student in their Comprehensive Care Unit, and advise the CCU Director and the Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs when a student’s progress is unsatisfactory.

  • Monitor the completion of competencies by each student and make recommendations for the transfer of patients, if needed, to provide equitable experiences for all students.

  • Assist with D3 research projects as appropriate.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Four-year college degree- Bachelors or Masters degree in education or a health-related field preferred.

  • Dental background is desirable but not required.

  • Public health background desirable but not required.

  • Some experience in administration, leadership, strategic planning, policy development, and collaboration required.

  • Patient/client coordination experience desirable.

  • Experience with project management or development and implementation of new programs highly desirable.

  • 2-3 years of experience preferred.

  • Experience in directing a program and employees.

  • Planning, implementing and evaluating programs.

  • Working with patients, clients or providers.

  • Developing spreadsheets and managing data; the ability to develop and manage spreadsheets will be critical to success in this position.
