Evernorth’s Enterprise Client Engagement (ECE) serves the Executive Sponsor to our largest commercial clients. In this capacity, the ECE accelerates client value by leading our long-term consultative strategy and overall client relationship to become the client’s trusted advisor with the goal of expanding the enterprise footprint. Externally, the ECE serves as an executive sponsor with client decision-makers from the C-Suite and executive healthcare leaders to assess their needs, provide relevant products and services to solve their issues as well as ensure client satisfaction and consistent service. Internally, the ECE must collaborate across Accredo Specialty Pharmacy, Care Solutions, eviCore Medical Benefit Management, Express Scripts PBM, Evernorth Behavioral and Direct Health and Cigna U.S. Commercial teams and related solutions to maximize value to the client and drive reliable service. The ECE also serves as a critical feedback source for innovation of new solutions across Evernorth

Job Summary

The Business Analytics Senior Advisor will work to bring data and analytics to life in the Lab and in client collaboration sessions in their support of our ECE clients and stakeholders. Working in a fast paced, innovative environment, this individual will collaborate with subject matter experts across the organization from analysts, clinicians, researchers and technologists to product owners, key sales, account management, and underwriting teams to provide new insights based on observable trends in our enterprise data and client specific populations. Responsibilities include: Working with large data sets and clinical reference materials; Developing analytics and reporting that reveal macro level insights which can be applied to client and prospect populations; Gathering and combining data sets produced by partners across the medical and pharmacy space; Participating in client meetings, educational events, trainings and strategy sessions; Meeting with various levels of management to promote new and innovative solutions; Partnering with key individuals across the enterprise.

Essential Functions

  • Function in a consultative role to provide expertise in business analyst tools, process and best practices.

  • Has a broad knowledge base of industry trends and innovations, process/methodology improvement and documentation.

  • Gather and analyze both pharmacy and medical data to identify trends and report on key performance key metrics.

  • Provide analytics in support of forecast & variance reporting.

  • Is a persuasive communicator, has excellent facilitation and presentation techniques and is comfortable presenting to all levels of management.

  • Balanced presentation of ideas and information to large audiences.

  • Maintain respectful dialogue in challenging situations.

  • Provide context to decisions by communicating the bigger picture.

  • Effectively collaborate and influence leadership across the organization.

  • Understand disparate perspectives, find common points of agreement and navigate past road blocks.

  • Research experience or work in a clinical setting a plus

  • Working knowledge of Evernorth, Cigna and Express Scripts products and services a plus

  • Have broad resources and social networks to reach into the organization to exchange ideas or seek input.

  • Broad base of knowledge within the Business Analytics role as well as the greater organization that acts in a consultative role (Enterprise Analysis).

  • Ability to understand broad impacts and can make/implement recommendations on solutions while mitigating risks.

  • Coordinate and lead business analyst tasks across multiple programs/projects including Program-level business analysis, competitive analysis, feasibility studies and business cases.

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal guidance from management to plan, resource and execute against goals and plans.

  • Exercise solid independent judgment and decision making abilities.

  • Drive the need and execute upon approval of business analytics productivity and process improvements with BA leadership.

  • Inspires and influences team members to achieve goals.

  • Able to educate stakeholders outside the team on business analytics processes and achieve shared mindset/alignment.

  • Able to act as a mentor to other team members and provide productive feedback.

  • Has the ability to lead broad training initiatives beyond the team.

  • Largely responsible for coordinating with management and contributing to the strategic vision for the team and our partners.

  • Heavily involved in the industry to monitor trends and incorporate them where applicable.

  • Ability to understand, align and articulate the organizational strategy and vision and how that relates to the change.

  • Highly skilled in understanding the big picture.

  • Drive solutions to close gaps and mitigate risks.

  • Create compelling visual analytic presentations in excel, PowerPoint and Tableau for delivery to internal customers and external clients

Qualifications

  • 8+ years relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.

  • Strong communication & presentation skills with ability to convey complex and technical information to technical and non-technical business partners.

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to change in focus or priorities

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex information and draw relevant conclusions

  • Ability to think strategically, drive results and implement tactically

  • Technical knowledge of relational database concepts, querying, data warehouses and decision support tools, including but not limited to: SQL, Excel, and Tableau.

  • Knowledgeable in plan design and benefit setups, clinical programs and formulary management

  • Demonstrated initiative, independent thinker and worker; Detail-oriented; Comfortable working with numerical data and information; Ability to identify, design, recommend, and implement efficient, innovative business solutions to clients’ complex benefits challenges; Ability to develop and execute on strategic business plans and set direction for teams; Travel 20%.
