Summary:

The Neurodiagnostic Educator assesses, develops, implements, and leads educational activities designed to grow, maintain, and improve the professional competence of clinical Team Members.

Responsibilities:

  • Creates and oversees assigned clinical programs by completing needs assessments

  • Employs evidence-based practice in educational methodologies and clinical practice

  • Assists in clinical orientation of new Team Members

  • Provides ongoing consultation on educational requirements and existing resources to direct care Team Members

  • Actively participates in the quality improvement process

  • Acts as a positive agent of change and communication

  • Guides other disciplines in applying principles of evidence-based care to their educational needs.

  • Performs tech functions and other duties as assigned.

Assigned Duties Include:

  • Creating training modules and supporting new hires and experienced techs until competent in procedures including EEG, EP, NCV, and TCD

  • Coordinate record reviews with reading clinicians, find and resolve knowledge gaps,

  • Coordinate and support cohorts through registration studying and application process

  • Participates in interviews, oversees clinical student selection

  • Oversees the relationship with education partners contracted with BayCare and outreaches to prospective partners, auditing staff and vendor procedures against guideline and provides timely response to tech on what was done well and what can be improved

  • Supports long-term initiatives that will develop and enhance the quality and breadth of patient care, and performing other duties as assigned.

Education Required :

  • Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited NDT program

  • Associate's degree or higher.

Minimum Qualifications - One of the following Certifications:

  • Registration for Electroencephalographic Technologists (R. EEG T.),

  • Registration for Evoked Potential Technologists (R. EP T.)

  • Certification for Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM)

  • Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R. NCS T.)

  • Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI)

  • Seizure Recognition and First Aid Certification.

Required Experience

3 years of Neurodiagnostic

Education:

Associates Degree

Essential:

  • Required: Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or Associate's degree or higher.
