*Schedule:  *8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

Position Summary:  The EMC Technician is responsible for performing EMC and Safety testing on components, subassemblies, and instruments.

* *

Position Responsibilities:

  • Attend design reviews in R&D for instruments that are in the development cycle
  • Develop and maintain procedures for EMC testing based on various standards
  • Perform EMC and Safety testing on LECO products
  • Troubleshoot EMC problems in subassemblies and instruments
  • Perform minor rework or product modification as testing needs dictate
  • Author test reports
  • Propose recommendations for improving EMC performance or level of safety
  • Participate in NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) inspections when required by customers
  • Ensure that the Compliance Testing Center (CTC Building) is adequately stocked with components and supplies that are necessary for product testing
  • Perform other duties as required

Position Requirements:

  • Ability to interact and work with both R&D and Production
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of electrical/mechanical design and production techniques
  • Ability to work with basic hand tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning software (Oracle preferred)
  • Familiarity with LabView, Visual Basic, ASP, and other software programs
  • Ability to work independently and in a group environment
  • Ability to travel to different local LECO facilities

Education/Certifications:

  • Associate degree in Electricals Technology or extensive work experience in EMC testing
