This role in summary

Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Cross Functional Quality Lead. This role is for our St. Joseph Tech Center in Michigan.

The Cross functional leader is accountable for the Execution and Implementation of the Quality initiatives in New Product Introduction (NPI) & Existing Product Introduction (EPI), supported by the Category Quality Leader. Main contact point for key quality problem solving activities related to Design. Accountable for lead/drive a high impact systemic project solving key quality pain points that requires cross-area work.

Travel to Findlay Factory in Ohio minimum 1 / quarter.

Your responsibilities will include

  • NPI Quality project execution, application of APQP according to WPD (Whirlpool Product Development) requirements and deliverables;

  • Manage and Execute NPI APQP from G0 to Post launch (G4 completion), including tool application (Critical Parameter Management, design failure model analysis, etc;)

  • Drive project Launches for quality & KPI’s (Until G4 Closure);

  • Early Production Containment and deviations tracking/closure;

  • Lead/Support NPI/EPI pipeline Generation: Planning Cycle, LRP (Long Range Plan) and Premium Quality;

  • Main liaison between Plant, QC (Quality Control) and BU (Business Unit) for issue tracking system

  • Lead tactical/ADP Top priority premium quality project to address main failure mode inside 12 MIS SIR (Service Incident Rate) and 1&2 Stars;

  • Quality representative of Design Review Forum;

  • Develop CPM (critical parameter management) standard for new architectures at sku level, mapping Critical characteristics and leveraging knowledge management at Region level;

  • Defines the Early Production Containment Inspection & Audit Plan for EPI/NPI projects.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Sciences

  • 3+ years of consumer product development experience

Preferred skills and experiences

  • 8+ years of product development experience with focus on consumer products

  • Experience working cross functionally with different stake holders

  • Experience working with Five Star Data and Global Service Incident Rate

  • Strong communication skills

  • Knowledge with six sigma training and familiar with the principles or six sigma green belt.RSRWH
