The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for the design and development of tools that are used in core print technology. In a small team, you will be responsible for defining and agreeing activities with other team member and the project manager. Defining the software tasks and regularly reporting on progress, taking the necessary actions to recover lost time where possible. This role will be located in the St Ives office .

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Coding and Debugging : Write, test, and debug system software.

  • Design and Implement Software : Develop software for real time embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment.

  • Support and Maintenance : Provide post-production support and optimise I/O performance.

  • Collaboration : Interface with wider development team and others inside and outside the organisation

  • Documentation : Maintain strong documentation and writing skills for code and design reviews

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Experience in the following languages: C, C++, Python, BASH.

  • Linux kernel device drivers.

  • Multi-threaded application development.

  • TCP/IP and UDP socket programming.
