Overview The primary focus of this position is to coordinate the activities and schedules of the driving team to ensure optimal efficiency. This individual is responsible for dispatching direct pick-up and delivery of freight in accordance with applicable regulations, scheduling and dispatching staff, equipment, and service vehicles, assisting with monitoring drivers and equipment for optimum efficiency, and addressing applicable questions and concerns, while meeting Coborn's Wildly Important Goals of being the Best Place to Work and Best Place to Shop. In collaboration with the Logistics Manager, monitor drivers and equipment for optimum efficiency: Create and/or confirm weekly driver schedules. Monitor equipment utilization based on miles and hours. Analyze data to monitor performance and plan improvements pertaining to labor activities and equipment. Dispatch direct pick-up and delivery of freight in the most efficient manner possible and in accordance with applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations governing commercial fleet activities. Schedule and dispatch staff, equipment, and service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests and specifications. Work closely with location managers to understand the product/items availability and logistics issues of specific projects. Interact with customers and/or managers to address questions, problems, or requests for service equipment.
