Actalent Food Manufacturing/Lab Supervisor - Day Shift in St. Cloud, Minnesota

Job Description:

We are seeking a QC Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the day shift, managing one lead and three quality technicians. This role supports both Quality Control and Laboratory functions as well as Quality Assurance and Production Support functions, ensuring food safety and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform microbiological analysis of products, water, and environment to support Pre-Operation sanitation and HACCP program.

  • Accurately collect samples for product testing, including energy drinks, sweetener samples, raw water, treated water, sanitation rinse water, and post sanitation swabbing.

  • Conduct analytical testing on energy drinks, including CO2, air, volumes, crimp, torque, pH, brix, flavor, and other parameters.

  • Perform Titratable Acidity analysis, HPLC analysis for caffeine and preservative levels, and T.O.A. of finished products.

  • Ensure accuracy and calibration of all measuring devices.

  • Record and document results from product analysis accurately.

  • Ensure batching sheets are filled out properly and within specifications before signing off.

  • Review ingredient labels, specifications, weights, and regulatory documents to validate the batching/recipe.

  • Communicate with batching, production, and sanitation teams to pull documents, review specifications, and provide QA support.

  • Pull finished goods samples from production for analytical testing and customer testing requirements.

  • Review labels and documents for the release of finished products.

  • Perform QA Line Checks every 4 hours during the shift.

  • Review GMPs and adherence to Food Safety Standards for production.

  • Check temperatures and calibrations of equipment with supporting documentation.

Skills & Qualifications

  • AA or BA/BS in a Scientific Discipline.

  • Previous lead or oversight experience

  • Proficiency in Wet Chemistry and Aseptic Technique.

  • Experience in Quality Control and performing line checks and inspections.

  • Strong documentation skills.

  • Experience with manufacturing line audits and laboratory work.

  • At least 2 years of experience in QC

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
