The Admissions Manager supervises administrative support positions for the day-to-day management of the medical school's admissions program and reports to the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education - St. Cloud, with a dotted line to the Faculty Director for Admissions in the Twin Cities. Program Highlights The University of Minnesota Medical School is a large public medical school with over 900 medical students located on three campuses in the Twin Cities, Duluth, and St. Cloud. Learn more about our program. Duties/Responsibilities 35%: Program Management Support the MD interview program in collaboration with other unit leaders. This includes logistics management, interviewer recruitment, and day-of activities. Develop an effective interview training program for mission-specific interviews. Analyze feedback and implement appropriate improvements for any/all recruitment and interview programming. Collaborate with the Faculty Director for Admissions to manage the applicant review process, ensuring an efficient and effective admissions process. 55%: Recruitment Develop and implement local and national recruitment plans requiring travel 5-8 times per year. Oversee relationships with the premedical advising community locally and nationally. Plan and implement admissions-related recruitment events (fairs, prospective student visits, school visits, webinars, video projects, etc.). Collaborate with the Office of Communications to update all recruitment materials (print and web); provide revisions to information and statistics published in annual surveys (MSAR), on the web, and through other media. Work with the Office of Admissions in Twin Cities and Duluth and the Office of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion to execute admissions and recruitment efforts. Serve as a contact for prospective applicants and provide advising services and information about the application process. Develop new recruitment initiatives aimed at attracting candidates that fit the mission of the CentraCare Regional Campus in St. Cloud. Oversee the review of recruitment scholarships and distribution process. Work with the Events Office to develop and update the Entering Class Student website, including updating important dates and current student profiles. Verify completion of prerequisite courses for all accepted applicants and conduct final degree audits of all incoming students. Manage calls from leadership for applicants with multiple acceptances. Oversee the processing and review of criminal background checks for all incoming students. 10%: Other Duties Ensure compliance with AAMC-related policies and regulations. Provide general oversight of the Office of Admissions operations. Serve as a liaison to the Pre-Health Student Resource Center. Participate in AHC Director of Student Services and Admissions and AHC Admissions & Recruitment Functional Groups. Review application files for the BA/MD program; serve as an interviewer for the program. Develop and facilitate interview activities exploring diversity and inclusion with applicants. Serve on the Office of Medical Education Strategic Plan aimed at Diversity & Inclusion. Collaborate with the CentraCare Director of Clinical Experience to support the transitio of pre-medical shadowing to admissions application. Salary: $60,000-$67,000 Qualifications Required Qualifications BA/BS degree plus at least 4 years of relevant experience, or master's degree plus at least 2 years of experience. Experience working with diverse populations; demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to socio-ethnic and cultural communication styles. Experience with project management, with demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience in education, student affairs, or admissions. Strong knowledge of health professions, student development, and academic programming. Working knowledge of university and college academic policies, financial aid policies, academic records, medical school entrance procedures, and available student resources. Thorough understanding of medical education issues as they apply to the recruitment and selection of students.
