POSITION PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Quality Manager is responsible for quality improvements and standards within the company
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive the improvement process, using tools such as corrective and preventive action, data collection and analysis and preparation and execution of quality meetings
Prepare quality plans and reports for customers and participates in customers vendor audits.
Supervise quality inspectors and document control
Supervises and support quality inspection, defining tasks and scope of work functions
Designs, implements and documents procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection
Establishes and implements metrics process capability, control charts, measurement quality for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions.
Collaborates with process owners and all other employees to further understanding and involvement of staff in metrics and related continuous improvement processes
Performs root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements
Analyzes customers product specifications to establish efficient, cost-effective requirements
Develops quality planning methods Develops process certification standards and assists in process certification
Reports to management on quality issues, trends and losses
Participates, coordinates and leads quality audits Actively participates in certifications such as ISO 9000
Any other duties and/or assigned responsibilities.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:
A bachelors degree in a technical field is preferred (sufficient training and on the job experience may substitute). ASQ certification is preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent communication and organizational skills are needed. This position must be able to handle multiple projects in a high stress environment without losing track of critical details. The ability to verbally describe complex processes in a way that will be easily understood by those with a broad range of education and experience is important.
Familiarity with cGMP for food and drug applications and with the proposed Dietary Health Product cGMPs is required.
The position must be very detail oriented and be able to develop, follow and enforce written procedures.
Excellent problem solving skills are required.
Proficiency in Office Suite applications is needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Mainly manufacturing environment which may include standing, sitting, bending, twisting, walking, climbing stairs, strong odors, lifting up to 50 lbs., confined spaces, warm and cold temperatures, wet/slippery and slick surfaces. Overtime will be required based on manufacturing hours.
