WGL - Operations Support Specialist II
Position Summary
Responsible for the development of business plans and budgets, implementation and continuous improvement of special projects and providing general support to the assigned business unit. Responsible for training of company Data Specialists and Contractors in utilizing WMIS and other tools.
You Will:
• Responsible for developing and on-going maintenance of the units Policies and Procedures.
• Assists in the preparation and monitoring of critical data related to Business Unit goals and objectives, operating metrics, and management operating systems (MOS).
• Serves as the liaison to Financial Metrics area in retrieving and producing data used in departmental business planning and reporting variances for monthly expenditures from PeopleSoft.
• Assists in the preparation of yearly Business Plans, and Capital and O & M budgets.
• Develops, analyzes, implements systems, prepares reports and presentations to complete projects on time and on budget.
• Provides support to the Business Unit (contractor services, major office supplies, training/travel, IT hardware/software requests, IDP's, Goals, and department and company policies).
• Responsible for developing, tracking, and reporting Strategic and Operating initiatives (business plans).
• Responsible for working with internal customers from various business units to enhance quality, processes, and information transfer in key result areas.
• Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Assists with providing guidance with the day-to-day activities of the Construction Support Data Specialists with Recordation & Invoicing and Permitting & Paving departments. Responsible for training new Recordation & Invoicing Construction Support Data Specialists.
• Focuses on maintaining continuity of workflow, ensuring quality and timeliness of data processing in compliance with established policies & procedures.
• Reviews implementation plans of contracts for accuracy prior to execution in WMIS. On-boarding Contractor WMIS Training.
• Sends Check Runs received from Accounts Payable to necessary Contractors twice weekly and record & mail CRSR/CRSRE checks to Cash Receipts for processing.
• Contractor access and renewals for necessary WG applications (Web Work Manager, Citrix, AppXtender, etc.); maintaining Contractor Crew Makeup in Central Configuration.
• Runs Capital & Maintenance Accrual reports using Business Objects at month’s end to report to necessary parties.
• Requests, gathers and reports Aging/Unbilled data from Contractors to internal parties on a monthly basis.
• Assists Construction in research and close out of WRs/BCAs for Rate Recoverable projects/reporting.
• Receives, researches and processes paper invoices for Construction through PeopleSoft Finance.
• Provides support for on-going process improvement and accelerate adoption of new processes through development of written training materials coupled with mandatory as well as ad-hoc training sessions for staff for processes involving BCA Data Quality Report, Pay Item Approval, Work Request creation and Material Requisitions.
You Have:
• High School Diploma/GED required
• 2+ Years experience in utilizing computer technology and company record-tracking systems and databases is required
• Proficient in the use of EXCEL, Visio, and Access Databases.
• Experience working with PeopleSoft financial tables and query tools.
• Ability to design databases using MS Access and create queries and reports from Access and PeoplesSoft.
• Working knowledge of Gas Transportation and Gas Supply procedures and practices and a general knowledge of utility operations required.
We offer a competitive salary range of $53,000.00 to $73,250.00per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
