Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) Configuration Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between development and operations teams to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery.

You would be responsible for managing and maintaining the configuration of a Government customer’s IT systems to ensure they meet requirements and operate efficiently. This work involves complex cloud-based systems within our Government customer’s existing infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of scalable and reliable cloud solutions.

• Manage configuration of development and operational systems.

• Identify configuration items, implement change control, status accounting, and audits.

• Develop, implement, and maintain CM processes and procedures to ensure system integrity and consistency.

• Maintain software, hardware, and documentation baselines.

• Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations.

• Oversee the change management process, ensuring all changes are documented, tested, and approved.

• Ensure compliance with standards, regulatory requirements, and policies.

• Track and resolve configuration-related issues, working closely with IT teams.

• Continuously evaluate and improve CM processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

• Communicate with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide updates.

• Report to leadership and stakeholders on CM capabilities.

• Plan, coordinate, schedule, test, improve, and maintain IT systems.

• Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, and leads for seamless system integration.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues promptly.

• Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices.

• Analyze existing systems and infrastructure to identify upgrade needs and opportunities.

• Use and recommend CM tools.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in configuration management, preferably in a complex IT environment.

• Strong understanding of configuration management tools and best practices.

• Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Proficiency in configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

• Knowledge of ITIL processes and standards.

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to initiate, supervise, and/or develop requirements for complex to extremely complex programs from inception to conclusion.

• Performs highly specialized, technical tasks associated with current and cutting-edge technologies.

• Recognized industry leader in their area of expertise.

• Proficiency in understanding cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Excellent planning skills and the ability to work under pressure.

• Ability to develop and use exceptionally complex concepts and processes that span multiple organizations and disciplines.

• Leads and mentors multiple junior/mid-level personnel.

Clearance Required: TS/SCI with CI Poly (or obtainable CI Poly)

Minimum Education: Master’s Degree in related field, or SME level work experience in the related labor category. Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Minimum Years of Experience: 12+ SME level work experience in the related labor category.

Required Certifications: Applicable software/hardware /management training & certifications.
