USmax Corporationis seeking anElectronic/Technical Security Systems Technicianto join our team supporting USAIDs Office of Security (SEC).

TheElectronic/Technical Security Systems Technicianprovides SEC Technical Security support to include troubleshooting, installation, and repairing Technical Security Systems (TSS) at USAID locations.

TheElectronic/Technical Security Systems Technicianwill provide SEC assistance in the planning, designing, development, and implementation of TSS related projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, and troubleshoot a variety of TSS/ESS equipment for systems such as:
    • Closed Circuit Television Systems (CCTV) - analog and/or IP
    • Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
    • Access Control Systems (ACS)
    • Duress alarms
    • Emergency and Mass Notification Systems (ENS/IDNS)
    • Forced Entry/Ballistic Resistant (FE/BR) doors and windows
    • Walk-through metal detectors, X-ray machines, and explosive trace detection systems
    • Security Management System enterprise (SMSe)
    • Active/passive anti-ram barrier and bollard systems
    • Low Voltage Electrical Systems
  • Interpret schematics/blueprints and operation manuals.
  • Provide assistance to SEC in the analysis, planning, designing, development, and implementation of technical, electronic, physical, and communication security related projects.
  • Provide direct on-site TSS support to include oversight and inspection of contractor security systems installations.
  • Assist SEC Project Coordination Officers (PCO) in the preparation of design documents to include Scope of Works (SOW), AutoCAD or Visio Concept design drawings, project timelines. Security Engineering Reports (SER), Technical Security Reviews (TSR), Technical Security Installation Reports (TSIR).
  • Assist PCOs in the formulation of a bill of materials (BOM) for communication and security equipment requirements for security upgrades and/or new security installation projects.
  • Assist PCOs in the development of the Scope of Work (SOW) used by local USAID Missions for project related work to be accomplished by local contractors, which will be overseen and monitored by USAID.
  • Assist PCOs with pre-project and post-project on-site surveys/inspections.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive background in the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and design of Technical, Electronic, and Physical security systems (TSS/ESS/PSS).
  • Low voltage electrical experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with security and life safety systems.
  • Base knowledge in safety and security principles.
  • Technical/Electronic systems experience (repair, installation, maintenance, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret schematics/blueprints and operation manuals.
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot a variety of Department of State Diplomatic Security (DS) compliant TSS/ESS/PSS equipment.
  • Ability to articulate thoughts, ideas, and opposing points of view through all forms of communication with both internal and external government agencies.
  • Experience in crafting all types of correspondence that reach their target audience with clarity and comprehension to include the senior management level, such as memoranda, trip reports, and service reports.
  • The skill to deliver briefs, guidance and assistance on all technical security system issues, policies, procedures and methodologies to a diverse audience.
  • Time management skills to ensure meeting of deadlines and to exercise efficiency in planning, prioritizing and accomplishing assigned task relating to technical security.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to physically stand, kneel, and bend for long periods of time and have the ability to climb ladders with dexterity in the hands.
  • Must be able to lift a 50-pound item to waist height and must be able to lift a 30-pound item over the head.
  • Must have 20/2 vision with corrective lens if necessary.
  • Must have acceptable color vision and have acceptable depth perception.
  • Must be physically able to travel to and operate in potentially dangerous, overseas environments.
  • Must have the ability to hear normal conversation, alarm, and warning signals with corrective devices if necessary.

Required Experience:

  • Four years general Technical/Electronic security and two years of relevant technical experience.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • CandidatesMUSThave an active Secret clearance to be considered.

Work Location / Schedule:

  • When not deployed, this position requires a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at the client location in Springfield, VA. Telework is generally authorized for 2 days per week.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires international travel, on a short-term TDY basis.
