Cabela's Physical Security Solutions Manager in Springfield, United States

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physical Security Solutions Manager (PSSM) is responsible to plan, coordinate, and deliver all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of organizational security systems and software for one or more systems. The PSSM is also responsible for maintaining, supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications. The PSSM is responsible for resource management and career development of his/her direct reports. Ability to consistently exceed customer expectations and show commitment to Company's Core Values. Responsible for internal controls and financial reporting for the respective area, as applicable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Remains accountable for projects including the delivery of projects on time, on-budget with quality based on most current project baseline.

  • Partners with applicable Business Partners and Project Managers to provide direction as of what Plan-Build-Run steps will be required to ensure high quality of deliverables and ensure the appropriate variances are created.

  • Facilitates discussion and documentation with the appropriate managers in regard to the Plan Build Run methodology/team.

  • Administers performance management for direct reports and sets clear expectations, holds people accountable, keeps team motivated and challenged, provides appropriate recognition and feedback.

  • Identifies gaps and areas of opportunity and eliminates single point of failure on critical systems and identify training needs.

  • Creates a succession plan to mentor and grow direct reports to foster an environment where people are challenged to step up and become leaders.

  • Allocates resources and resource commitments, responds to resource requests on a timely manner, reviews and approves time on a timely basis to ensure our allocation goals (for strategic and small projects) are on track, perform appropriate corrective actions (performance, schedule) to avoid over allocation.

  • Partners with IT peers and business.

  • Partners with our business to set realistic expectations on project scope and schedule based on our internal capacity.

  • Collaborate with IT peers to resolve resource issues and communication to Sr. Management and business.

  • Conducts bi-weekly (monthly minimum) project execution meetings to provide Sr. Management with project updates of the entire line of business portfolio.

  • Ensures the appropriate Production Install Requests (PIR’s) are complete and have the required quality to implement new projects into production.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree

  • Years of experience: Four years or more

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Extensive understanding of and experience with physical security software solutions such as Genetec, Lenel, Milestone Video, Axis, Hanwha, Cisco, and others. (Configuration, troubleshooting, performance, and storage)

  • Experience with configuration and installation of the following systems:

  • Video Management Systems -Genetec, Hanwha Vision, Axis Communications, Bosch Security.

  • Access Control Systems – Genetec, Axis, Mercury, HID, Altronix, LifeSafety Power

  • Badging Systems –Genetec, Lenel, HID (Fargo), Zebra

  • Visitor Management Systems – Genetec, Lenel, HID

  • Video Analytics experience – Genetec, Milestone Video, Rekor

  • AutoCAD and Bluebeam experience

  • Project Management experience

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with physical security technologies including badge systems, access control, door hardware, alarms, video management (including Analog and IP)

  • Extensive knowledge of burglar alarm and motion detection systems

  • Ability to design security technology solutions, including security CCTV design.

  • Ability to produce, review, and approve Standard Operating Procedure documentation.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong IT, electronic, and mechanical skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with business partners/vendors in a professional manner.

  • Ability to work and make decisions independently, while consistently exercising good judgment in reaching solutions

  • General understanding of and experience working with electrical circuits

  • Able to validate completion of tasks on punch list and delivery of quality work by third-party installers.

  • Knowledge of industry storage technologies

  • Ability to facilitate processes resulting in timely delivery of negotiated, effective vendor contracts and statements of work.

  • Experience budgeting for new projects and new stores

  • Mentoring and training other physical security engineers

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel to sites as needed. Up to 50% travel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular computer work, walking, and sitting.

  • Occasional standing and lifting up to 50lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

  • Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
