Cabela's Physical Security Engineer 2 in Springfield, United States

POSITION SUMMARY:

This Physical Security Engineer 2 is responsible for implementing the physical security program and supporting ticket/issue resolution. The Physical Security Engineer 2 will manage physical security processes that include CCTV, access control systems, intrusion detection, and end-user support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Implements and provides break/fix support for physical security equipment including badge systems, access controls, alarms, and camera systems.

  • Implements and provides break/fix support for physical security software solutions, access controls, and related technologies.

  • Creates Standard Operating Procedures for all physical security equipment and software solutions.

  • Researches industry trends and best practices; continuously develop the skills and knowledge necessary to implement effective physical security solutions.

  • Assists in the development of project proposals, Statement of Work, bids, and other vendor contract- related matters, as needed.

  • Analyzes issues and determine root cause.

  • Completes accurate, timely, and comprehensive reports relative to physical security.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Associates Degree or Apprenticeship

  • Certificate(s) or License(s): General understanding of and experience with (configuration, troubleshooting, performance, and storage) physical security software solutions such as Genetec, Cisco Camera experience (ex. Axis)– configuration and installation

  • Experience: 4+ Years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge and experience with physical security equipment including badge systems, access control, door hardware, alarms and camera systems

  • Knowledge of burglar alarm and motion detection systems

  • Ability to produce and review/edit Standard Operating Procedure documentation

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, schedule, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong mechanical skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with business partners/vendors in a professional manner

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and consistently exercise good judgment in reaching solutions

  • General understanding of and experience working with electrical circuits

  • Able to validate completion of tasks on punch list and delivery of quality work by third-party installers.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 0% - 25%

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular computer work, and sitting

  • Occasional walking, standing, and lifting up to 50lbs

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

  • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
