Cabela's Divisional Environmental Health & Safety Manager in Springfield, United States
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Divisional EHS Manager position is responsible for sites’ EHS programs, overseeing department personnel to develop/deploy training, implementation of policies/procedures, risk assessment/prioritization and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, management of regulatory authority inspections, inquiries and interactions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees all EHS related programs and initiatives
Directs the day-to-day work of a team of EHS professionals
Manages EHS risk assessment and monitoring activities
Partners with leadership to establish safety and environmental related strategies
Supports all initiatives related to safety culture improvements, safety incentives, safety KPI’s and related injury reduction efforts
Facilitates management of incident root-cause investigation and corrective actions
Manages department budgets and supports capital level planning related to EHS
Builds and implements ergonomics program
Facilitates the response to insurance recommendations
Serves as Workers Compensation liaison between Operations team and Risk Management team
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Degree: Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety/Environmental, Engineering or other discipline
Experience: Minimum 10 years experience leading safety and environmental programs
Certifications: OSHA 30 Hour, RCRA, DOT, Electrical NFPA 70E, Train the Trainer experience, ability to pursue board certified accreditation options at future date (CIH, ASP, CSP, CHMM, etc.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, ability to climb, crawl, bend over, minimum capacity to lift 50lbs.

Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
