This position serves as the Programming Supervisor, supporting the IL Gaming Board Agency planning, organizing, and directing the analysis, design, programming, implementation, and support of information systems and programs. In this role, you will develop goals and objectives for the programming unit and establish and implement operational policies and procedures. In addition, you will serve as Project Manager for application development requests including managing the agencys programming project user requests. This position also serves as the lead software developer and is responsible for supervising other developers assigned to the IL Gaming Board Agency.

Essential Functions
  • Under general direction, serves as the Programming Supervisor and the lead programmer for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), supporting the Illinois Gaming Board (IGB), planning, organizing, and directing the analysis, design, programming, implementation, and support of information systems and programs.
  • Serves as Project Manager for application development requests including managing the agencys programming project user requests to ensure completion and priority of agency programming needs are met.
  • Serves as working supervisor.
  • Develops control procedures, inputs and outputs, form design, and interactive system procedures and identifies functional requirements consisting of defining inputs and outputs, processing, and data requirements.
  • Develops and maintains communication with outside agencies, vendor groups and Gaming Division Managers to obtain and share information on program data requirements related to major project implementations of new enhancements and upgrades to programs and testing of new initiatives and directives.
  • Creates, evaluates, and implements formal and informal training for professional programming staff.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field by continuing education through attendance at meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
