This position serves as an IT Governance Lead executing and controlling IT Governance processes for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) and assigned State of Illinois agencies. In this role, you will provide guidance to agencies in IT decisions supporting business needs and to support the strategic IT direction of the state. In addition, you will provide consultation to clients on the IT Governance process and to assist agency IT staff in the completion of documentation and in determining solutions. This position meets with the Enterprise IT staff to ensure services provided by DoIT are aligned with the clients business requirements, to discuss specializations, and to determine validity and viability of initiatives. Responsibilities of this position also include reviewing IT/Telecommunications hardware, software and services procurement and performing technology product and services reviews. The successful candidate will have the ability to analyze and interpret complex computer technical specifications and coordinate changes for deployment and implementation.

Essential Functions
  • Under administrative direction, serves an IT Governance Lead for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT):
  • Oversees and sets direction for the APM, TPM and Architecture Workspace within Service Now and other Architecture tools where needed.
  • Coordinates IT/Telecommunications hardware, software and services procurements submitted by agencies, boards, and commissions.
  • Analyzes and interprets complex computer technical specifications and coordinates any resulting changes to the plans with the client and/or DoIT for deployment and implementation.
  • Monitors and updates governance related websites, SharePoint sites, databases, and associated tracking systems to ensure information is accurate.
  • Confers with DoIT Services staff to develop governance measures and metrics using applications such as Excel to support Continual Service Improvement efforts of the Bureau.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
