Job Summary

As the Financial/Data Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring timely federal financial reporting and documentation requirements to maximize Federal Financial Participation (FFP).

Job Description

We are looking for a Financial/Data Analyst to ensure timely federal financial reporting and documentation requirements to maximize Federal Financial Participation (FFP) . This position will be full-time and remote.

Candidates must be willing to travel on-site to Springfield, IL for up to two weeks each quarter.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and assist with federal claiming logic updates and timely certification of the following federal expenditure reports and budget estimates submitted to the Medicaid Budget and Expenditures System (MBES): CMS-64, CMS-21

  • Prepare and assist with Medicaid and CHIP Financial system (MACFin): CMS-37, CMS-218

  • Prepare and assist with Grant Solutions.gov: OCSE-396, SF-425

  • Prepare and assist with PACAP

  • Prepare and assist with written policies and standard operating procedures

  • Provide staff training on accounting, reporting, and submittal of Federal Financial expenditures on the quarterly Federal Financial Reports

  • Audit the State's practices to comply with Federal requirements and are based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • At least two years of experience in financial analysis or data analysis

  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, and Power BI

  • Experience working within a healthcare domain

  • State and federal government experience

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
