Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Audits and Accounting Manager. Under administrative direction, this position will develop and maintain the monthly and annual reconciliation processes to ensure the various accounting systems used by the Department agree with records of the Illinois Office of Comptroller (IOC), the federal government, and other relevant sources. The position will serve as the Departments Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Coordinator and will coordinate and monitor various Departmental audits within the Division of Budget and Finance. Job Responsibilities

1.Serves as Audits and Accounting Manager, provides high level accounting expertise to the Chief Fiscal Officer, develops and maintains the monthly and annual reconciliation processes to ensure the various accounting systems used by the Department agree with records of the Illinois Office of Comptroller (IOC), the federal government, and other relevant sources.

2.As a certified public accountant, serves as the Departments Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Coordinator

3.Coordinates and monitors various Departmental audits, on a statewide basis, within the Division of Budget and Finance

4.Serves as full line supervisor

5.Confers and collaborates with the Department of Innovation and Technology to ensure that the Departments financial systems meet accounting standards and requirements

6.Through subordinate staff, directs and monitors the Departments compliance with state travel regulations

7.Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
